International Clay Residency Center in Ghana

Our residency program in Ghana is all about interaction, people, culture and spirit. We are committed to providing artists of all levels an opportunity to live and work in Ghana beyond a typical casual tourist encounter. Interact with the artists who sing songs and make pots, weave baskets, carve wood, transform gold and master iron.

Several opportunities for working and visiting tours to Ghanaian artists working in contemporary and traditional styles will be provided.

Wonderful relationships and exchange of ideas always take root in such settings.

Our greatest obligation to you is to create a healthy climate to enhance your experience, thought, and work as an artist.

See the markets, catch the rhythms of Ghana, taste the food, place the language on your tongue. Yes, inspire your mind through critical interaction in a completely remarkable environment.  Beautiful weather throughout the year, hospitable people beyond measure, delicious food: nothing could better inspire your spirit! You will not leave the same.

International Clay Residency Center in Ghana is set in a superb environment to facilitate amazing visual experience and dialogue. Residents stay in Accra where studio space, equipment, and materials are provided. The program is linked with several satellite sites made up of Ghanaian traditional and contemporary ceramics studios and craft villages.

You will visit and work alongside local artists while being surrounded by an environment that will influence you and your artwork for the rest of your life.

Each location has a beauty, feeling and poetry that you have not experienced before.

Aside from studio visits there are several attractions such as: castles, forts, museums, botanical gardens, parks, etc. that you would certainly enjoy visiting.
