Our desire at StudioMate Inc. is to give you that very personal, intimate, and educational opportunity to immerse yourself into the everyday life and culture of Ghana. From this privileged access you will quickly engage all your senses in experiencing and coming to know all that truly makes Ghanaian art and culture so rich and life changing. Our core commitment is to provide people from all backgrounds an enriching opportunity for cross-cultural interaction; to provide an experience (in an atmosphere of cultural purity and sensitivity) of the arts and culture of Ghana beyond a casual tourist encounter. Our residency is made up of a network of workshops tours and demonstrations at local craft villages. Our program is highly specialized and covers the length and breadth of the country. We provide you an authentic field education; an opportunity to learn indigenous techniques at each location. You will get direct access to the very best accomplished local traditional arts and craftspersons. The weather is beautiful throughout the year, people are friendly and hospitable beyond measure, the food is delicious: nothing could better inspire your spirit! You will not leave the same.

Collaboration:
We are happy to announce that starting this year the Centre for African Studies (KNUST, Kumasi) will partner with us in hosting the residency. Our base will be the university and the Centre and we shall operate out from Kumasi. This provides us a phenomenal opportunity to access the drumming, dancing, and music resources of the university.
